Queen Jadis Rides in London (Again)
Door Jam: January 19, 2025
In February, we will start our next C.S. Lewis read-along: The Magician’s Nephew. Prepare for Narnia’s return to the big screen by going chapter-by-chapter through the book being adapted.

The Door Jam is a place to squeeze in articles about C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, their work, adaptations of their fantasy worlds, news from other franchises, and interesting articles. Unless otherwise stated, I’m not endorsing (or criticizing) any of these but merely sharing them with you.
On the heels of Netflix making its first official statement about Narnia in more than six years, Greta Gerwig’s adaptation returns to filming on the streets of London.
Over at What’s On Netflix, they have a collection of photos from Narnia’s return to the London streets. Most are similar to previous scenes: Jadis’ stunt double riding a horse and being chased by police.
These were all taken on January 11th, with some variations making their way onto social media, though some mistook the photos for Avengers: Doomsday. The photos were taken outside the historic Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, which was transformed into the 1950s, when the movie is set.
What’s On Netflix also reported that filming is expected to wrap by the middle of next month.
NarniaWeb also features a brief video from the set. Check out both sites for more.
Not Safe But Good
C.S. Lewis quote of the week
By putting bread, gold, horse, apple, or the very roads into a myth, we do not retreat from reality: we rediscover it. As long as the story lingers in our mind, the real things are more themselves. … By dipping them in myth, we see them more clearly.
