Inspiration: Despite his reputation as an apologist, much of C.S. Lewis’ writing is concerned with discipleship as much as evangelism. He writes on spiritual growth and the constant need for us to have our perception of God challenged and remade by fresh encounters with God.

Application: Lucy’s encounter with Aslan doesn’t go as she planned or hoped. He asks her to obey no matter what the others do. We see multiple echoes of biblical stories where individuals, as well as readers, are called to do the same. We will never know what would’ve happened had things been different, but we can always find out what will happen when we choose to obey.

Chapter 10 Quote: “‘Now you are a lioness, said Aslan. ‘And now all Narnia shall be renewed. But come. We have no time to lose.’”
