The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. My brother borrowed the book from school. I was feeling ill that day, so picked up the book when he was outside playing with friends. Read all evening to finish the book!

What a lovely, serendipitous introduction!

My first was Wardrobe, like many others I suspect. And Lucy was Lucy Barfield, Lewis' goddaughter.

I have one of your quotes posted in my house: “I’m on Aslan’s side even if there isn’t any Aslan to lead it. I’m going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia.” I want Puddleglum's faith.

That quote is in my office as well. My wall is covered in Inklings. In addition to that quote, I have old map posters from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, faux travel posters for Middle-earth locations, and a print of Lewis and Tolkien talking inside the Eagle & Child. Inspiration everywhere I look. Though I really want the Pauline Baynes Narnia map.

Let's see . . .

My first CSL book was "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," as I suspect it will be for many others.

Lucy was named after Lucy Barfield, CSL's godchild.
