2026 Narnia Madness: Championship
What is the greatest Narnia quote? Vote now!
Much like March Madness, Narnia Madness is quickly coming to a close. The Valiant Sixteen, Magnificent Eight, and Just Four are finished. Now, we are at the championship match-up.
When I began planning this tournament and even when voting began, I would not have expected these quotes from these two books to meet for the 2026 Narnia Madness championship. But there are probably no greater quotes in all of The Chronicles of Narnia.
Last Chance for You to Win Narnia Madness
Besides determining the winning Narnia quote, I also want you to win during the 2026 Narnia Madness.
To enter this week, answer these two questions:
Which quote do you think will win the championship?
Which Narnia book was finished (not published) last?
Either comment below or email your answer to WardrobeDoor@gmail.com. Every correct answer for either question submitted by March 30 counts as one entry. You can also get bonus entries by liking this post and sharing it.
I’ll announce the contest winners on April 1, the same day the tournament winner is revealed.
Narnia Madness Prizes
One grand prize winner will win their choice of one of four Narnia companion books and a free one-year paid subscription to The Wardrobe Door.1
Three first runner-ups will receive a Narnia companion book and a free one-month paid subscription to The Wardrobe Door.
Six second runner-ups will win a free one-month paid subscription.
Now, let’s get to the winning quotes from last week and voting for the championship!
From The Horse and His Boy, the third-seeded Aslan quote took out the top two lines in the region, from Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Then, in the Just Four, it squeaked by another quote from The Horse and His Boy, the winner of the Human Region, 54-46.
In the 2026 Narnia Madness championship match-up, we get Aslan’s explanation to Shasta of his lionly involvement throughout his life.
“I was the lion who forced you to join with Aravis. I was the cat who comforted you among the houses of the dead. I was the lion who drove the jackals from you while you slept. I was the lion who gave the Horses the new strength of fear for the last mile so that you should reach King Lune in time. And I was the lion you do not remember who pushed the boat in which you lay, a child near death, so that it came to shore where a man sat, wakeful at midnight, to receive you.”
— The Horse and His Boy
Squaring off against Aslan is his most faithful follower. From The Silver Chair, Puddleglum’s loyalty pledge knocked off quotes from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and the early tournament favorite from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to win the Narnian Region. Then, it took down the last remaining No. 1 seed, the opening line to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, 66-34 in the Just Four.
The marshwiggle’s rallying cry has echoed from under Narnia all the way to the championship face-off.
“I’m on Aslan’s side even if there isn’t any Aslan to lead it. I’m going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia.”
— The Silver Chair
Championship voting ends by March 28, so vote now for your favorite!
