I have been dubbed the "hip-hop liaison" in my office by Jonathan Howe, so I thought I would share my odd knowledge of the urban culture and music. Not that the knowledge it self is odd, though some of these stories probably are, but the fact that a guy with no discernible rhythm who grew up as a literary nerd in a rural setting has said knowledge is probably extremely odd. But regardless, here is your hip-hop news of the week in today's Door Jam.
Huffington Post: Rapper and star of the movie, I'm in Love With a Church Girl, Ja Rule shares about his own faith journey and how he has seen something different at Hillsong NYC. Can I get a ... amen?
Yahoo: Because Kayne's not getting enough media focus between having a baby with a Kardashian and making up fake social media feuds with TV hosts, he needed to up the ante from just having God as a featured artist on his latest album. He had to have "Jesus" show up on stage at his concert. Wouldn't it have been simpler to hang a sign around your neck that says, "Will blaspheme for attention!"?
Huffington Post: Rihanna was asked to leave a mosque after posing for modeling photos on the grounds of one in the United Arab Emirates. Who exactly goes to a mosque in the Middle East to take fashion shots? I suppose the mosque can be thankful of one thing - it wasn't Miley Cyrus.
YouTube: DMX discovers Google and loses his mind ... up in here, up in here.
YouTube: This is a little early (OK, a lot early), but I'm giving you enough time to practice and perform this number for your mom next Mothers' Day.
